I’m a bit picky about fall homeware, but I found lots of items I liked this year. Keep reading to see what I picked up!
Gold Decor? Don’t Mind if I Do!
Medium Styrofoam Glitter Pumpkin in Ivory (on sale for $8.00)
Small Pumpkin – Gold Speckled on White (on sale for $5.20)
Extra Small Styrofoam Gold Dipped Pumpkin (on sale for $3.20)
(Pumpkin Boutique Halloween at Jo-Ann)
Don’t get me wrong, I love a classic orange pumpkin as much as the next person, but when I saw these ivory and gold pumpkins, I had to have them! Normally I would feel like I needed to put pumpkins away after Halloween, but I feel like I could leave these up until after Thanksgiving, or even around Christmastime. They’re not always on sale, but almost always are, so if you’re on the hunt for pumpkins like these or other adorable ones, keep an eye out at Jo-Ann! They’re such a bargain if you do happen to get them while they’re on sale.
These jars have fairy lights built in, which is so nice. I got similar jars from Jo-Ann around Christmastime last year, but they didn’t include fairy lights, and it got a bit tedious having to reach in to turn them on each time. These are battery-operated and you simply pick them up and click on the switch on the bottom of each jar. I do wish the battery packs weren’t so obvious, but I think they can easily be disguised with other decor. Again, keep an eye out for these to be on sale at Jo-Ann!
Candles, Candles, and More Candles!
I always love candles, but autumn and winter scents are my absolute favorites. I never hesitate to keep them lit year-round, but they feel so much more special during this time of year. I know I’ll be adding more to my collection in the coming months, but for now, here’s what I’ve picked up! (Some of the Yankee ones are thanks to an amazing ‘Buy 2 Large Candles, Get 2 Large Candles Free’ coupon that came with a couple of these that I ordered!)
Note: All of these Yankee Candle Large 2-Wick Tumblers are regularly $27.99 but are currently (as of September 28th) 2 for $36.00. Like Jo-Ann, Yankee Candle is always having sales, so keep an eye out for the best deals!
Yankee Candle Dazzling Red Maple Large 2-Wick Tumbler Candle
Yankee Candle Honeycrisp Apple Cider Large 2-Wick Tumbler Candle (not currently on website, but here is another size)
Yankee Candle Autumn Leaves Large 2-Wick Tumbler Candle
All of the candles I purchased remind me of fall and winter in Connecticut where I grew up. They all produce a scent that is just strong enough without being so overpowering that you can’t leave them lit long enough to truly enjoy. I lit Dazzling Red Maple and Honeycrisp Apple Cider at the same time, and I felt like I was transported back my childhood days spent picking apples in local orchards.
Yankee Candle Sparkling Balsam Large 2-Wick Tumbler Candle
Yankee Candle Winter Garden Large 2-Wick Tumbler Candle (not currently on website, but here is another size)
Yankee Candle Crisp Fall Night Large 2-Wick Tumbler Candle
I already featured Winter Garden in my August Favorites, and it’s definitely my favorite of the whole Yankee Candle bunch in this post! I also love Sparkling Balsam, and between this and Winter Garden, I can’t help but feel nostalgic for going to Christmas tree farms to pick our family tree every year when I was a kid. Crisp Fall Night is lovely as well, though it doesn’t give me as much of a nostalgic feeling as the other scents do.
Yankee Candle Silver Birch Scenterpiece Easy MeltCup ($4.99)
Yankee Candle Crisp Fall Night Scenterpiece Easy MeltCup ($4.99)
Yankee Candle Macintosh Scenterpiece Easy MeltCup ($4.99)
Yankee Candle Balsam & Cedar Scenterpiece Easy MeltCup ($4.99)
Yankee Candle Lemon Lavender Scenterpiece Easy MeltCup ($4.99)
My mom recently got me a Scenterpiece Warmer from Yankee Candle along with the Lemon Lavender MeltCup (which is why it’s sort of the odd one out of these with regards to theme, though my mom also knows how much I love lavender!), so I was sure to pick up some more MeltCups when I was at Yankee Candle. I would have gotten something other than Crisp Fall Night if I had remembered that I had already gotten it as a candle – ironic when it’s not even my favorite, huh? – but I still love it. My favorite of these is one of my classic, go-to Yankee Candle scents, Balsam & Cedar. Seriously, you can’t go wrong with a basic Christmas tree scent! If you’re looking for a stronger scent from your candles, these MeltCups are a great option.
ILLUME candles are always some of my favorites, so I had to order a couple when I saw a few new holiday scents. And seriously, I could not resist these adorable tins with their little pompoms on top! Sleigh Bells smells like fir needles, clove, and sandalwood, and Trim the Tree smells like…yup, a Christmas tree! Both are so lovely and Christmasy. If you haven’t tried ILLUME candles before, I highly recommend them! My personal favorites from ILLUME are their version of Balsam & Cedar (probably my favorite Balsam & Cedar candle I’ve ever had!), Winter White, and Woodfire. Barnes & Noble sold a set of those three last winter, and they’re a great size to test them out without splurging on the full size versions. Also, ILLUME sends the best samples if you order from their site. I got two mini candles (Rustic Pumpkin and Pineapple Cilantro), a box of matches, and a sample packet of hand cream.
Did I go a little overboard on all of the candles? Probably. Do I care? Not at all! There are worse things I could buy a bunch of, after all. At least candles are pretty and make your home smell nice!
Have you bought anything fall or even winter-related for your home lately? I’d love to hear about it in the comments!
