Oh, October, where did you go, and how did you go so quickly?! I’ll admit, I’m excited it’s November now. It’s my birthday month, the weather is my favorite, and it’s finally socially acceptable (mostly) to start watching Christmas movies and getting decorations up! Even though we’re already well into November, I thought I should still share what I was loving in October. Read on to see a few of my faves!
I’ve been going crazy with lipsticks lately, but these are the three I’ve been coming back to the most, as they’re the ones I’ve gotten the most compliments on.
Glastonberry is a dark berry shade, which is definitely out of my comfort zone, but I love it. I’m also a little biased, because I grew up in a town called Glastonbury (not the one in England), and it’s the town that inspired my blog name! Glass and berries…Glastonbury…get it?! So after lusting after this lipstick for a long time, I finally purchased it. I’m so glad I did! Bonus: it makes my teeth look whiter, which I’ll never complain about!
The Maybelline lipstick is a matte lipstick that isn’t drying at all, and actually feels very creamy and soft. This is the lipstick I go for when I’m looking for that “it’s-almost-my-natural-lip-color” shade.
I’ve been wearing the Rimmel liquid lipstick a lot lately, and I’ve been loving it as well. It’s easy to apply, dries quickly, doesn’t bleed, and lasts all day. Seriously, it didn’t budge after eating or drinking, and it takes a trusty Simple wipe to actually remove it. I’m super impressed!
I love this candle so much. It’s a little different from other Christmas tree-inspired candles that I’ve smelled before. It smells exactly like the Christmas trees my family would buy when I was a kid. The scent is pretty strong, so I can’t leave it lit as long as I leave other candles lit, but I still love it!
Hallmark ornaments have been one of my family’s longest-lasting Christmas traditions. Every year, our tree is decked out in Keepsake Ornaments of all varieties. When I saw this one, I just had to buy it. It’s absolutely adorable and is such nice quality, as is usually the case for Hallmark ornaments. I’ve actually had it out on my desk since I got it, even though I don’t have a tree up yet!
Living in Starbucks land here in Seattle means there are zero (yes, ZERO) Dunkin’ Donuts near me. Growing up in New England basically made me a Dunkin’ addict for life, so when I’m in Seattle, these are the best alternative for me. They’re an all-time favorite of mine, but I’ve been drinking about twice as much coffee lately, so I wanted to include them in my favorites. Now if only I had access to the actual donuts from Dunkin’ Donuts!
Whitney Cummings is one of my absolute favorite comedians, so I couldn’t wait to get this book. I love getting the audiobook version of a comedian’s book, because the way they perform it makes it even better. This book isn’t one that will make you crack up every five seconds, although there are a ton of hysterical moments. I was surprised by how touching and vulnerable this book was. Whitney even cried a few times while reading it, which made me want to cry. It was basically a cathartic experience. It’s not a downer by any means, but if you’re looking for a non-fiction book that will make you laugh and maybe even cry, give this one a shot!
Kevin (Probably) Saves the World
Stranger Things Season 2
I’m still loving all the shows from my previous favorites, but these are some of the newer ones I’ve been enjoying. The Mayor is absolutely hilarious and adorable, season 2 of Stranger Things was so good (and, non-spoilery spoiler: JUSTICE FOR BARB!), Outlander’s new season is as swoon-worthy as ever, and Kevin (Probably) Saves the World is hilarious, touching, sweet, and genuine. Love, love, love!
Hallmark Christmas Movies
Hallmark’s Countdown to Christmas marathon has finally started, and I absolutely adore it as always. The new movies have been so cute, but Miss Christmas and The Perfect Christmas have been my favorites so far. I can’t wait for this weekend’s new movies!
Well, that sums up my favorite things from October! Sorry this post is a bit late! You know how life is.
What have you been loving lately? Let me know in the comments!
