November 2017 Favorites

It’s nearly December, you guys! In a few hours we’ll be popping open advent calendars, planning which sweet treats we’ll bake, and getting ready for the holidays! I’m planning to take part in Blogmas this year (though I may miss a day here and there due to traveling), so stick around for some festive posts. But in the meantime, I wanted to bid adieu to a lovely November and share some of my favorite things from the month!

Tanya’s Christmas: Make, Bake and Celebrate by Tanya Burr (£8.00 on Amazon UK)
Merry and Bright Sign (on sale for $2.99, regularly $9.99 at Michaels)

November has been a big month of decorating and getting in the Christmas spirit, and Tanya’s Christmas has been so helpful in doing that. It’s so inspiring, the photos are gorgeous, and I love reading Tanya’s stories and memories.

I’m still in the process of decorating my apartment (and going a little overboard), but this little sign from Michael’s is one of my favorite items I purchased this year. I love the pink glitter font and silver glitter stars, and the whole color scheme is so pretty.

Dyson Supersonic Hair Dryer ($399.00 at Sephora)
Charlotte Tilbury Matte Revolution Lipstick in Pillow Talk ($34.00 at Charlotte Tilbury)
Zoella Beauty Snow’ella Body Mist (£14.00 at Feelunique)

Okay, I have a confession: I’ve had this Dyson hair dryer since maybe a month or two after its initial release, but didn’t use it much. My hair is thick, curly, and pretty long at the moment, so it takes ages to dry, and I’m usually not patient enough to take the time to use a dryer. Recently, though, I decided to start taking the time to style my hair more often, and this has been incredible. It gets so hot (seriously, I have some sunburn-esque irritations to prove it), is quiet enough to use without driving everyone nuts, and is so lightweight that your arm won’t feel like it’s going to break after five minutes. If I’m being careful and using a round brush, it takes about 45 minutes to dry my hair – a big improvement over the 90 minutes it would take with another dryer, but if I’m being less careful, it takes just about 20-30 minutes to get it smooth and straight enough to touch it up with a flat iron. Seriously, if you can swing this financially (keep an eye out for Sephora sales or other sales, by the way!), it’s definitely worth it.

This shade of Charlotte Tilbury’s Matte Revolution Lipstick was sold out for ages (I think it’s already sold out again, actually!), so when I saw it was restocked, I was quick to snap it up. I can totally see what all the fuss was about. It’s a gorgeous rosy pink shade that I think would flatter so many skintones. And it lasts all day with very few smudges, which is a definite plus.

I’m still loving the entire Zoella Beauty Snow’ella collection, but this is definitely one of my current faves. I wear this every day, even when I’m just sitting around at home, and it doesn’t make my sensitive nose feel like it’s on fire. I love how fresh this scent is, and come on, that bottle is just freakin’ adorable!

Pepperidge Farm Sugar Cookies – Holiday Edition (approx. $2.99 at most U.S. food stores)
Walkers Pure Butter Shortbread Cookies – Festive Shapes ($19.99 at World Market)

Festive snacks are one of my favorite things to buy. As soon as I see Pepperidge Farm’s holiday edition of their sugar cookies, I feel like Christmas really is right around the corner. These cookies are great year-round, but I swear the green sprinkles and the festive bag make them taste even better.

The same can be said for festive-shaped Walkers shortbread cookies. You can usually find regular Walkers shortbread or the mini Christmas tree ones at any store, but for festive tins, World Market is my go-to. I got this holiday tin of festive shapes there, and it’s taking everything in me to not just sit down and eat all of them in one go. So yummy!

Crazy Ex-Girlfriend Season 3
Hallmark Channel’s Countdown to Christmas
Hallmark Movies & Mysteries’ Most Wonderful Movies of Christmas
This is Us

Crazy Ex-Girlfriend has been one of my favorite shows since its premiere, but this season has taken things to a whole new level. The last few episodes told such important, heartbreaking stories, and the cast performed phenomenally. Seriously, I’ve been blown away by this season.

Of course, I’m loving the new Christmas movies on Hallmark Channel and Hallmark Movies & Mysteries. There have been so many cute ones. Some of my faves so far have been The Sweetest Christmas, The Mistletoe Inn, and Switched for Christmas.

Last up for TV is one of my all-time faves, and this isn’t the first time it’s appeared on my monthly favorites list. This is Us has been fantastic this year. The three most recent episodes were fascinating, heartbreaking, and heartwarming all at once. I loved how well they were woven together and how much backstory they provided. If you’re one of the few people in the world who hasn’t seen the show, give it a shot. It’s really incredible.

taylor swift reputation

reputation by Taylor Swift

I know opinions are mixed on Taylor Swift, and I’ll be honest, sometimes my own opinions are mixed, too. But just like her first few singles off of this album, the songs grow on me every time I listen to them. Love her or hate her, you’ve gotta admit she’s ballsy and one hell of a lyricist. And while some people might not like reputation, it’s definitely one of my favorite albums at the moment.

That wraps up my November favorites! What were you all loving this month? Let me know!

xx
