Welcome to day 2 of Blogmas! Today I wanted to share a few ideas and inspiration for those of you who love a more classic and nostalgic red and green Christmas theme. I go through phases of loving different decor themes, but always have at least a few red and green items around to make my home feel Christmassy. If you’re looking for inspiration or just want to see some festive decor, read on!
Target always has some of my favorite Christmas decor collections. It’s easily one of my favorite places to shop for the holidays, and I’ll often go there just to get a Christmassy feeling. This collection features red and green, as well as white, but adds a bit of ocher and black for a modern twist. Items have leather, cast brass, and iron, which really give it a little extra character.
This collection is a bit similar to Target’s Gather collection, as it also has metal elements with a traditional color scheme. If you’re looking for a rustic feel, this is a great option. Just looking at the items makes me feel like I should be heading off to a cozy cabin in Colorado for Christmastime!
Pier 1 Imports was one of the first stores in my area to have Christmas items this year, and I honestly wanted to buy everything! This collection has your classic red and green colors, along with plaids and weathered wood. If you’re looking for decor that will make you feel nostalgic and cozy while sipping hot chocolate and watching holiday films, check this one out!
Cost Plus World Market (known to most in the U.S. as simply “World Market”) was another store that stocked Christmas items early. I challenge anyone to go into a World Market store at Christmastime and not feel an ounce of cheer. There are so many different collections available, but this one is definitely one of the most traditional. It features many laser-cut wood items (like those above), which is such a trend this year, but also includes mercury glass, felt, retro garlands, and more.
If you’re looking for another rustic-feeling collection with a bit of red and green, this is a great option. Red is especially prominent in this collection, and if you’re a lover of reindeer, plaid, wreaths, and/or pillows, you’ll be living in a winter wonderland with these items!
This is one of the most traditional red and green collections in this post, in my opinion. I mean, isn’t Christmas the best time of year to display poinsettias and poinsettia-inspired decor? Throw in some twinkling lights, glitter, and crystal, and your house will feel like incredibly Christmassy.
Any holiday decor that brings up feelings of nostalgia is always a favorite of mine. This collection features handmade vintage style items, with distressed fabric, mercury glass, and paper mache, and, of course, lots of red and green. If you’re looking for a collection that makes your home feel warm, festive, and full of nostalgia, be sure to check this one out.
Looking for something with red and green that’s a little more cutesy and whimsical? Look no further than this collection. These items are absolutely adorable (trust me, I’ve seen them in person!) and feature a mix of red, green, white, and blue in various shades. This collection has a sort of retro vibe to me, and many items have classic Christmas phrases and names. If you have children or if any will be visiting this Christmas, this would be a great collection to go for, as it has such a cute and youthful feeling.
This is another cute and more whimsical collection, with classic red and green, as well as lime green, berry red, and powder blue. If you’re a pattern lover, this collection has loads of polka dots and stripes. And do you love sloths, penguins, and/or snowmen? They’re all here! Absolutely adorable, and a frosty frolic indeed!
It doesn’t get much more Christmassy than Balsam Hill. One of my lifetime goals is to get one of their trees, but for now, I’ll be daydreaming about their decorating themes. This collection has a truly classic mix of red, green, and gold, with glass ornaments, gorgeous stockings, and even an adorable snow globe with Santa and a puppy.
When I think of stores with luxe decor, Pottery Barn always comes to mind. This collection is timeless and classic with its colors, fabrics, prints, and items in general. And don’t think it’s all fancy-looking – there’s a cute and quirky Santa hat tree topper, too! If you want to bring traditional styles and cheer into your home, this collection is wonderful.
This is another gorgeous, classic, and timeless collection with red, green, and gold. If berries, pinecones, glass ornaments, and nutcrackers are your idea of Christmas (isn’t it for all of us, to some extent?), this would be a great collection for you. I especially love the the polar bear snow globe stocking holder, the lighted Christmas village canvas, and the festive tree skirts.
There are so many more stores around the world to get classic red and green Christmas decor from, or to get inspiration in general for how to spruce up your home for the season. I hope this post helped in some way, even if all it did was make you feel a bit more Christmassy.
I’d love to hear if you’ve gone with (or are going to go with) a red and green theme this year, and what your favorite places are to get festive decor! Let me know in the comments.
And if red and green isn’t really your style, stay tuned, because I’ll have more decor ideas in future Blogmas posts.
Merry Blogmas, and happy decorating!
