Glossier Makeup Haul

Hi everyone! I’ll admit, I’m pretty late to the Glossier party, but I’m so glad I finally showed up! After using and loving some of their products for about a month, I decided to go ahead and pick up a few (okay, more than a few) new things to try. Read on to see what I bought, plus my thoughts on everything!

Balm Dotcom Universal Skin Salve in Mint, Rose, and Cherry ($12 each, or $30 for 3)

One of my favorite items from my first Glossier purchase was Balm Dotcom in Original. My lips get painfully dry and cracked, especially during the winter months, and Balm Dotcom has been saving them! So I decided to pick up a trio to try some more flavors and tints.

Mint has no color to it, and it smells and tastes so fresh. It does tingle very slightly, so if that’s not your thing, I’d say to go for Original instead.

Rose has a very slight pink tint, just enough to give your lips a tiny bit of color. The flavor isn’t super strong either, which is nice. I was definitely worried I’d be in rose-scented overload, but luckily that didn’t happen.

Lastly, Cherry is, predictably, cherry flavored. The scent reminds me of cherry flavored Lip Smackers from when I was a kid, so it’s basically nostalgia in a tube for me! It has a red tint that is sheer, but it’s slightly more apparent than the Rose version.

I love all three of these, but I think Mint is my favorite so far. I do love the colors of the tinted versions, but the fresh flavor of Mint gives it the slightest edge.

Generation G Sheer Matte Lipstick in Like ($18)

From the reviews of Generation G on the Glossier site, it seems a bit polarizing. People either love it or hate it. I will say it’s a bit more drying than other lipsticks, but with a bit of Balm Dotcom underneath, it doesn’t dry out my lips nearly as much. I love that the colors are sheer and buildable, and they last a surprisingly long time.

I do know people have had trouble with the product falling out of the tube, but I haven’t had any problems with that. Then again, I have been super careful and have made sure I don’t twist the tube too much. Instead, I twist just enough to have enough product without putting too much pressure on the lipstick itself.

I’m definitely on the side of loving this lipstick. I had ordered Cake in my first Glossier purchase and have been wearing it daily, so I decided to go for Like this time. Keep in mind, the lipstick goes on a lot lighter than it looks in the tube, so while Like looks a bit dark in this photo, it’s actually a light pink shade.

Haloscope Dew Effect Highlighter in Quartz ($22)

Okay, so I’m not someone who typically uses highlighters. The ones I’ve tried in the past just haven’t been my favorite. But with all the hype around Haloscope, I thought I’d give it a shot, and I’m really glad I did. It’s subtle but buildable, especially when applied with your fingers instead of directly from the tube. It’s called a “dew effect highlighter,” and that’s exactly how I would describe it. Rather than looking like you clearly applied highlighter, it just makes your skin look dewy. So, if you’re anything like me and prefer a more subtle highlighter, I’d definitely try this one. I absolutely love it. I might even finally join in on the highlighter trend! Seriously, I’m late to all the parties. Haha!

Cloud Paint Seamless Cheek Color in Dusk, Beam, Puff, and Haze ($18 each, or $30 for 2)

Last but not least, I ordered each color of Cloud Paint in two separate duos. I haven’t had a chance to try each of them yet, but have swatched them on my arm. I love how sheer, blendable, and buildable they are. It really is difficult to apply too much, though I will say that a tiny bit goes a long way, especially with Haze. As someone who always wears powder blush, it’s says a lot that I actually plan to use these! And as a bonus, the tubes are so cute, and would easily fit in a clutch or purse in case you need to touch up throughout the day, though they seem quite long lasting.

So, there you have it! I’m thrilled with everything I purchased and I can’t wait to try more. I think next up I might try the Perfecting Skin Tint, Wowder, and the rest of the Balm Dotcom flavors!

Are you loving Glossier? I’d love to hear what your faves are so I can pick them up in my next order! Let me know in the comments!

  1. I’ve heard a lot of great things about Glossier! Maybe I’ll try out some of their products sometime, especially the cheek tints. Maddie Ziegler used it on her YouTube channel, and it looked so pretty and natural, also looks pretty easy to blend.

    1. You should definitely try some out! I can’t recommend it enough. The cheek tints are so easy to blend. I’ll have to check out Maddie’s video! Her makeup always looks so gorgeous, and I’d love to see what the cheek tint looks like on her. xx
